In accordance with the governor's decision, the Taksim station on the M2 Yenikapı–Hacıosman Metro Line and the F1 Taksim–Kabataş Funicular Line have been closed until further notice due to the May 1st celebrations and potential crowds.
While metro services were not completely cancelled, it was stated that trains continued their journeys without stopping at Taksim station. The funicular line, however, was reportedly temporarily closed completely.
Authorities recommend that passengers wishing to reach the area use alternative routes. These include options such as using nearby stops like Şişhane and Osmanbey.
While no specific date has been shared regarding how long the measure will last, it has been reported that the restriction will remain in place until further notice.
