Temperatures are also expected to rise in major cities. In Istanbul, temperatures are predicted to hover around 30 degrees Celsius, while Ankara is expected to experience hotter days towards the weekend. In Izmir, thermometers could exceed 35 degrees Celsius during the week.

Experts warn against prolonged sun exposure, especially during midday hours. They advise the elderly, children, and those with chronic illnesses to be cautious about heatstroke and to consume adequate fluids throughout the day.

Climate experts warn that the summer of 2026 could be generally hot and dry, emphasizing the importance of efficient water use. Recent predictions indicate that heat waves may occur more frequently during the summer.
